My how things have grown!
Turners Fresh Market opened in 1963, with John and Lulu Turner selling their produce from a card table on the side of Hwy. 54 as well as vegetable deliveries around the Chain O’Lakes.
Since then, the market has expanded several times. The rebuilding of Hwy 54 necessitated the move of the market to a structure adjoining the barn in 1994.

Turners Fresh Market has always carried seasonally fresh produce, beautiful plants, festive decorations and local gourmet products. However, in the past several years our selection has grown due to our inclusion of produce from other local farmers and producers, making our market more of a community market than ever. This sense of the market as a communal hub has also grown due to an increased number of family-fun events at the market and farm. Our hope is to bring families together for some outdoor fun and send them home with an appetite for fresh local produce they are excited to eat and share.

In the last two years alone, we have added close to 100 new local products from over 65 new local farmers and producers! This number will continue to grow in our 2024 season as we try to carry more and more of the items found on your weekly grocery list! Things will continue to grow with plans of insulating and renovating the current open-air market into a year round building, so Turners can serve all things local beyond the 6 months it has traditionally been open each year!
